Gordon Murphy is Chief Technology Officer of Gigawatt, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Joe Berti.
At Gigawatt, Gordon leads the company’s engineering organization, responsible for building the platform, infrastructure, and AI-native architecture that powers modular AI across utility operations. He oversees system design, cloud architecture, and platform scalability, ensuring the technology foundation supports secure, reliable, and high-performance deployments in regulated environments.
Gordon brings deep experience in platform engineering, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure, with a track record of guiding teams through the full software development lifecycle. He specializes in building scalable, resilient systems that support complex, high-volume applications, with a focus on enabling self-service deployment, modernization, and operational efficiency across engineering organizations.
Prior to Gigawatt, Gordon spent over a decade at Indeed, where he held multiple engineering leadership roles. As Director of Engineering for Service Platform, he led teams responsible for compute, networking, load balancing, service-to-service communication, data storage, and cloud governance. He also led the Compute Platform organization, building shared infrastructure used by product teams globally, including Kubernetes clusters, service mesh, IAM, secrets management, and continuous deployment systems.
During his time at Indeed, Gordon played a key role in modernizing the company’s infrastructure, transitioning from bare-metal environments to containerized platforms and Kubernetes-based architectures. He led efforts to enable self-service provisioning and deployment, improving developer productivity while strengthening reliability and scalability across global systems.
